Poet and Musician 'Gil Scott-Heron' Left Us Asking 'What's the Word?"

Gil Scott-Heron died Friday afternoon in New York, his
book publisher reported. He was 62. The influential poet and musician is often credited with being one of the progenitors of hip-hop, and is best known for the spoken-word piece "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."

PUBLISHER PERSONAL NOTE:

On a personal note, I grew up listening to Brother Gil Scott-Heron's music.  To date, two of my favorite songs will always be with me, which in my humble opinion as a young teen, catapulted this poetic man to heights that will forever remain in so many hearts and minds of many.

May Brother Scott-Heron's Music Remain with Us for a Lifetime!  Peace.
