Former Daily News reporter Paul LaRosa has written a memoir, "Leaving
Story Avenue: My Journey from the Projects to the Front Page" about
growing up in the Bronx.
He didn’t ride in a car until he was 13 or take an airplane until he was in college.
His childhood adventures took place on the park benches and playing fields of the Soundview, Bronx, public housing development where he lived, which he remembers as a paradise for kids in the early 1960s....
