"We identified significant increasing trends in ischemic stroke hospitalizations among adolescents and young adults.
Our results from national surveillance data accentuate the need for public health initiatives to reduce the prevalence of risk factors for stroke among adolescents and young adults."

South Carolina has the deadliest rural routes in the nation, according to a report issued by the Associated General Contractors of America.The report ranked states based on their rural fatality rates, rural road conditions and the state of their rural bridges.Second to South Carolina in ruralroad fatality rates was Florida. Vermont and Idaho have the highest percentage of rural roads in poor condition, the contractors’ group said, and Pennsylvania and Rhode Island lead the nation in the percentage of deficient rural bridges.

For all the attention the Williams sisters have attracted to themselves, and for all that has shown up uninvited, appreciation has always been several steps behind. It’s not that they don’t get their due when they win, or that they their absences for various reasons aren’t noted when they happen.
